Purpose
The purpose of this programme is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of probability and statistical methods, with applications in risk assessment and quality control in nuclear energy systems. Students will learn to formulate and solve problems within statistical frameworks, quantify risks associated with multiple factors, and verify that control procedures comply with relevant ISO standards. Emphasis is placed on problem-solving, effective communication, time management, and the practical application of statistical techniques and technology. The course prepares students to responsibly assess and manage risks, ensuring safety and reliability in nuclear operations.
Admission Requirements
Applicants require at least a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). A Science, Engineering, or technical degree at NQF Level 7, including one year of Physics and two years of Mathematics.
