Purpose
The purpose of this SLP is to introduce the prospective student to the qur鈥檃nic textual position within a historical context and to examine through the study of a series of contemporary themes how this position speaks 鈥� however nuanced – to or is tension with current liberal and decolonial approaches. With this knowledge the student will be equipped with solid insights in the nuances and complexities of Islamic reasoning in relation to a range of contemporary moral and political issues and apply this to other social issues. The skill acquired include critical lenses and writing to produce editorial pieces for religio-social communities.
Admission Requirements
A bachelor鈥檚 degree with Islamic Studies major OR a relevant qualification on the same level.
