Purpose

This programme equips students with theoretical and practical mastery of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for nuclear energy applications. Students learn to solve complex engineering problems involving fluid flow and heat transfer by understanding governing equations and applying numerical methods. Through preparing computational grids, using commercial CFD software like ANSYS FLUENT, and engaging in hands-on exercises, they develop skills to select and implement appropriate CFD techniques. The study also emphasizes critical competencies, including problem-solving, self-organization, time management, and effective communication, ensuring graduates can accurately analyze results and address engineering challenges in nuclear energy systems.

Admission Requirements

Applicants require at least a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). A Science, Engineering, or technical degree at NQF Level 7, including one year of Physics and two years of Mathematics.

Selection Process
