Purpose
The purpose of this programme is to equip students with a solid foundation in mathematical methods essential for understanding and applying basic physics, particularly in nuclear energy. Students will develop the ability to formulate and solve problems within a mathematical framework, including the application of differential and vector analysis to quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, and diffusion phenomena. By mastering these mathematical techniques, students will also be prepared to extend their knowledge to other branches of physics and technology. The course emphasizes problem-solving, analytical reasoning, and the practical use of mathematics to model and interpret physical systems effectively.
Admission Requirements
Applicants require at least a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). A Science, Engineering, or technical degree at NQF Level 7, including one year of Physics and two years of Mathematics.
Selection Process
Selection is based on academic merit.
