Procedures and Guidelines of UJ Graphic Studio
PROCEDURES & GUIDELINES
- Contact a graphic designer directly by phone, email or in person at the Graphic Design Studio, Ground Floor, Room B5-150, Ga Batho [B5 Building], APK Campus. The designers are:

- This session includes the following:
- discussion of the design project;
- discussion and mutual decision on the delivery date;
- completing the Studio鈥檚 Project Request and Approval Form [Requisition] with all relevant information, including the cost string, and, cost centre owner and financial business partner鈥檚 signatures;
- the client should provide the following information/material:
- an electronic version of language edited text information [final content information]
- high resolution photographs [300dpi/卤200x150mm] if applicable
- for changes to existing artwork created by the graphic designers 鈥 please supply an example [soft or hard copy] of the original design.
- The project will be completed on the pre-determined delivery date [a reasonable and achievable delivery date is determined by the client and the graphic designer]. Normally a time frame of at least ONE week is required to complete a project, and TWO to THREE weeks for newsletters, journals, magazines and other multi page designs 鈥 all depending on the workload in the Studio.
- The design project will be presented to the client for proof reading and approval on the agreed upon delivery date. At this stage, all edits needs to be indicated on the PDF artwork supplied by the designer. Please do not export and edit the PDF in MSWord.
- Press ready artwork will be provided to the client to send to print, and/or a soft copy for digital use.
- Examples of printed projects is much appreciated for future reference and for the Studio鈥檚 Portfolio 鈥 please drop off an example at the Studio, if possible.
- Fees payable for graphic design
- UJ cost string provided 鈥 only material costs. Cost of licensed stock images is R200 鈥╬er image.
- Private clients pay per UJ invoice [COD] 鈥 material costs plus a hourly rate determined by the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg plus 15% VAT.
- UJ students [study related projects] 鈥 material costs plus half the hourly rate determined by the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg plus 15% VAT.
- NOTE: Stock images used in the Studio鈥檚 artwork are licensed, and is part of a contractual agreement between UJ and Shutterstock. Taking these images from any artwork is illegal and will result in UJ being fined.
