About Prof Thomas Tufte
Professor Tufte is Associate Dean for Research and Innovation and 欧美福利100000 of Loughborough London. Member of Academia Europaea (2019-) and Senior Research Associate, 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg, South Africa (2013-). Tufte has since 1990 worked with research, teaching, curricular development, consultancy and NGO work in over 30 countries. Research interests include communication for social change, critical development studies, activism and social movement studies, health communication in the Global South, tv-fiction and qualitative audience studies.
Tufte has led 7 international research projects, been on numerous editorial boards, and has collaborated with a broad range of organisations in international development cooperation, such as World Bank, UNICEF, UNESCO, USAID, UNDP, FAO, SIDA, Panos, ADRA, Soul City, Femina, Ghana Friendship, and others. The majority of his consultancies for these organisations has been tied to the field of health communication. Together with Marjan de Bruin he co-founded the IAMCR working groups on HIV/AIDS Communication and on Health Communication and Social Change.
Professor Tufte鈥檚 publications include 20 books (3 monographs, 17 edited volumes), 41 peer reviewed journal articles and 60+ book chapters. Professor Tufte works in both English, Spanish, Portuguese and Danish and his work is published widely in these languages, in addition to in Italian and Greek. Recent publications include:
