About Ms. Sadiyah Geyer
Ms. Sadiyah Geyer is an academic, researcher, and Honours Programme Coordinator in the Department of Interior Design at the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg (UJ), within the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture (FADA). With over a decade of professional experience in interior architecture and design, she has developed extensive expertise in conceptual development, technical documentation, project management, and strategic spatial planning.
Her academic career spans ten years, where she has contributed to shaping future interior designers through her commitment to socially responsive and environmentally conscious design education. She is currently pursuing a PhD with a focus on the complexities of urban interiority, particularly the role of interior design in sustainable urban regeneration in South Africa.
Ms. Geyer’s research interests lie in the intersections of interior design, urban regeneration, and the built environment as well as design education. She has published widely on topics such as adaptive reuse, interior placemaking, and pedagogical innovation. She is passionate about the potential of interior design to contribute meaningfully to urban transformation and cultural identity.
