About Ms. Marisca Deminey
Ms. Marisca Deminey has been appointed as a Lecturer in the Interior Design Department at the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg since 2018. She is actively involved in the undergraduate programmes, where she is the first-year coordinator, guiding undergraduate students to transition into higher education and continuing their academic journey. On a post-graduate level, she supervises Master鈥檚 students.
She is a proud alumna of the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg, where she completed her National Diploma, BTech, and MTech in the Department of Interior Design. She is pursuing a PhD to explore future-focused curricula development for interior design education. She is also an accredited AP professional with the Green Building Council of South Africa and an educational member of the African Institute of the Interior Design Professions (IID).
Her research focuses on design education, emerging technologies and sustainable design, aiming to empower the next generation of interior designers to make environmentally responsive decisions and leverage technology to contribute to shaping the future built environment. She is dedicated to shaping a future-focused design response through her teaching and learning practices. Her approach is grounded in an ecological and technological worldview, fostering an understanding of the interconnectedness between design decisions and their broader impact on the future.
