About Ms. Amanda Breytenbach

Ms. Amanda Breytenbach is a trained and registered architect with over 30 years of experience in higher education. She not only teaches undergraduate courses but also supervises master’s degree students and, as an academic, contributes to accredited research output. Throughout her career, she has taken on several managerial roles within the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture (FADA) and possesses extensive knowledge and experience in curriculum planning, quality assurance, and teaching and learning strategies. Ms Breytenbach is committed to continuously exploring innovative and relevant teaching methods that can enhance student performance. In addition to her lecturing duties, she has actively participated in numerous higher education forums and professional organisations. Her roles include serving as President of the Design Education Forum (DEFSA), chairing the Education Committee of the IID, and being a member of the GLOW Redesign Educators Forum, as well as chairing the GIfA Heritage Committee.
