About Dumisa Ngwenya

Dumisa Wellington Ngwenya received the B.Sc. degree in Mathematics and Physics from the 欧美福利100000 of Eswatini in 1991, the B.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from the 欧美福利100000 of KwaZulu-Natal in 1996, and the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the 欧美福利100000 of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, in 2002. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering at the 欧美福利100000 of Pretoria, South Africa.
He is Head of Research and Innovation at SENTECH, where he leads strategic initiatives in emerging technologies and digital transformation. His previous roles include Executive of Engineering and Technology at the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA), responsible for spectrum management and equipment certification; Research Group Leader at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), focusing on wireless technologies; and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering at the 欧美福利100000 of Pretoria, where he taught and supervised postgraduate research.
Mr. Ngwenya has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers in the areas of communication networks, congestion control, and optimal control methods. He has also undertaken consultancy assignments in telecommunications and ICT strategy, providing expertise to both public and private sector organizations.
He is a Fellow of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) and a Senior Member of the IEEE. He has served on Organizing and Technical Program Committees of international IEEE conferences and is active on academic and professional advisory boards, fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and government in the ICT and telecommunications sectors.
