About Dr Peter Baur

Peter Baur is an Associate Professor in the School of Economics at the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg. He holds a Doctoral Degree in Economics from the same 欧美福利100000. He has lectured internationally and across South Africa for many institutions, universities, and business schools. He has published in several national and international journals and has often featured in both the local and international media where he is often called upon for commentary and economic analysis. His fields of research include cultural economics, financial economics, arts economics, cultural entrepreneurship, behavioural economics and development economics and his community engagement has spanned across both the private and public sectors. He is currently the chair for the Community of Practice for Cultural Entrepreneurship and is the deputy chair of the Community of Practice for Entrepreneurship Research for Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education and is a Co-Director for PASCAL International Observatory (Africa). He currently heads the Arts and Cultural Research Unit of the Centre for Local Economic Development in the School of Economics focusing predominantly on research into student mentorship, cultural economics, and cultural entrepreneurship. He is the Deputy Head of the Arts Unit of the Athens Institute of Education and Research. He acts as the editor of several international economics, arts, humanities and tourism journals.
