About Prof Marius Venter

I am the founder and Director of the Centre for Local Economic Development (CENLED) that has the aim to professionalise the careers of persons working in local economic development (LED) and conduct research that could be applied to make a difference in people鈥檚 lives.

I have facilitated a new career path for Local Economic Development practitioners and am one of the founding member of the professional body for economic developers, The Economic Development Council of South Africa. I am also the Director: of Africa, a global alliance that collaborates with city and regional leaders to balance economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
