About Dr Manuel Nopeia
Dr. Manuel Nopeia has been employed as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Instrument Scientist at the Department of Geology, 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg, South Africa, since October 2025. He holds a Ph.D. in Earth Resources Engineering, with a specialization in Economic Geology, from Kyushu 欧美福利100000 in Japan (2022). From 2016 to 2017, Dr. Nopeia worked as a junior geologist at VALE Mozambique, contributing to the Expansion Project for the Moatize Coal Mine in Tete Province. Over the years, he has focused primarily on studying orogenic precious and base metal deposits, as well as magmatic-hydrothermal base metal deposits in both Asia and Africa. His research also encompasses various issues related to the mineral extractive industry and its societal impacts in Mozambique.
Supervisor
Prof. Axel Hofmann
