Dr Mabusela is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg and is registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Eng Tech). He is also a member of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) and serves as a youth editorial board member of the Journal of Food Quality and Safety.

His research background includes nanobiotechnology, hydrometallurgy, biometallurgy, and acid mine drainage (AMD) treatment, biosystems engineering, as well as sustainable postharvest management technologies. His research focuses on modelling, food science, and materials science, with particular emphasis on agricultural waste valorisation, biopolymer-based materials, and ethylene mitigation strategies to enhance the shelf life of fresh produce. He is currently working on the development of bioplastics, edible coatings, and nanoparticles for sustainable applications in food preservation.

Dr Mabusela graduated with a DEng in Chemical Engineering from the Cape Peninsula 欧美福利100000 of Technology. He has over 8 years of lecturing experience and has worked in various industries,
including pharmaceuticals, mining, and agriculture.
