About Dr Andre Kraak
Andre Kraak is a part-time education and training research consultant doing a full-time PhD in Innovation Economics with a thesis title 鈥�Initiating an economic and skills turnaround in the local furniture innovation system of the Southern Cape: an 鈥榠ntermediation鈥� and 鈥榠nnovation鈥� perspective鈥�.
His main research interest is the relationship between the innovation economy and the education and training system in South Africa. He has previously worked at the 欧美福利100000 of the Western Cape and the Human Sciences Research Council.
Andre鈥檚 most recent journal publication was on 鈥楾he role of 鈥渋ntermediaries鈥� in brokering training and building social compacts: can sector skills authorities perform these roles?鈥�, Journal for Vocational and Continuing Education and Training (JOVACET), 1(2) 2019. He was until 2019 a member of Mzabalazo Advisory Services, which undertook an Evaluation of the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS III) 2011-2016. He intends submitting his thesis by end of 2022.
