About Prof Alistair Mokoena
Prof Alistair Mokoena is an internationally acclaimed speaker and a seasoned leader with 29 years of experience in both the corporate world and business education. He is the Executive Dean of the Johannesburg Business School, and was previously Google鈥檚 Country Director in Southern Africa.
He鈥檚 the author of the popular personal effectiveness book 鈥淪ervings of self-mastery鈥� which was launched in October 2023, and 鈥淪ervings of self-mastery Journal鈥� which launched in May 2025. He co-authored two other books, namely 鈥淭he book that every leader needs to read鈥� and 鈥淭he book that every marketer should definitely read.鈥�
Prof Mokoena鈥檚 academic qualifications include Bcom, LLB, MDP (Management Development Programme), EDP (Executive Development Programme), MBA, PhD, and a DBA (Doctor of Business Administration). His areas of research interest include marketing, advertising, digital transformation, international business, leadership and self-mastery.
He has received many industry awards over the years including the Global Brands Magazine鈥檚 Best Advertising and Marketing Leader Award in South Africa (2019), North-West 欧美福利100000鈥檚 Alumni Excellence Award for Business Leadership (2023), a Finalist in the Institute of Marketing Management (IMM) Marketing Excellence Awards (2023) and Rhodes 欧美福利100000 Distinguished Alumni Award (2024).
