Internal collaboration includes the Registrar鈥檚 Office, the Department of African Languages, Department of English, LanCSAL, the Transformation Unit and the UJ Graphic Design Studio.

Other universities 鈭 The Multilingual Language Services Office benchmarks regularly with other South African universities regarding language policies and issues. Centre for Legal Terminology in African Languages (CLTAL) 鈥 The Multilingual Language Services Office participates in and contributes to the development of legal terminology for the dictionary project. The translation of the Sepedi/Sesotho sa Leboa Legal Dictionary is nearly completed.

South African Translators鈥 Institute (SATI) 鈥 As members of SATI, the MLSO staff have access to a wide network of expertise.

Pendoring 鈥 The MLSO collaborated with Pendoring to present the 2022 Indigenous Language Imbizo at UJ. The prestigious Pendoring Awards recognise outstanding achievements in promoting and utilising indigenous languages in advertising and media. The MLSO plays a pivotal part in partnering with Pendoring, actively contributing to the enhancement of linguistic diversity and cultural appreciation. This partnership demonstrates the shared dedication of both the MLSO and Pendoring to the overarching objectives of preserving and advancing indigenous languages, in line with the principles of the UN Decade of Indigenous Languages.
