The Centre, initiated by the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg (UJ) in collaboration with the Qatari Embassy in South Africa, is grounded in a commitment to increasing understanding of the causes and dynamics of conflict and crisis, and advancing pathways for sustainable, just, and inclusive peace. It aims to promote intercultural understanding as a foundation for solidarity, coexistence, and the reimagining of global peace and security paradigms. With a particular focus on Qatar and South Africa, the Centre probes and illuminates how both nations reflect and shape the evolving roles of emerging powers and the Global South in a multipolar world.

To be a leading Global South鈥揳nchored centre for peace and intercultural understanding, offering a transformational educational, research and dialogue space to advance diverse and innovative perspectives to foster and sustain peace.

Mission:

To promote peace and intercultural understanding through research, education, and exchange that connect scholarship, policy, and practice across Qatar, South Africa, and the wider Global South, with a focus on mediation, post-conflict recovery, reconciliation, and just and inclusive social contracts to help shape resilient and cohesive societies.
