In collaboration with the SARChi Chair: Africa Diplomacy & Foreign Policy, CPIU hosted a roundtable discussion that brought together distinguished women ambassadors and diplomats with direct experience in conflict settings and peace processes to explore how women navigate the complexities of diplomacy in times of war and transition.

2025, August 18-21 Eco-Social Contracts for Sustainable and Just Futures: Mobilising Collective Power with the 21st Century Polycrisis, Johannesburg

Prof McCandless participated in a pre-book launch panel presenting her chapter on 鈥淭he Climate COP: Processes and Pathways for Eco- and Peace-Promoting Social Contracts鈥 at the TC/ESG 25 Conference, Navigating Sustainability, Transformations towards Justice and Equity conference, and also at the Academic Council of the United Nations (ACUNS) in Nairobi (July 23-25).

CPIU, on behalf of the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg, co-hosted this conference with Hamad Bin Khalifa 欧美福利100000 and other partner organisations, including the,, and the Glasgow. The conference sought to tackle both immediate and long-term strategies for rebuilding Gaza鈥檚 higher education sector, examining critical challenges, priorities, and opportunities for recovery, while fostering collaboration between Gaza鈥檚 higher education leaders and international experts, scholars, and institutions.
