On October 28, 2025, a Roundtable Discussion titled Women in Peace Diplomacy and Mediation was held in collaboration with the SARChi Chair: African Diplomacy & Foreign Policy

Women have long played pivotal – though often under-recognised – roles in the pursuit of peace. From formal negotiations to grassroots mediation, their leadership has shaped pathways out of conflict and towards more sustainable forms of peace. This event brought together distinguished women ambassadors and diplomats with direct experience in conflict settings and peace processes. By foregrounding their voices, it explored how women navigate the complexities of diplomacy in times of war and transition, the unique perspectives they bring to mediation and peacebuilding, and the persistent challenges of operating within male-dominated spheres of foreign policy.
