UJ Honours Degree/Postgraduate Diploma Bursary

APPLICATIONS FOR 2026 ARE NOW OPEN

In 2026, UJ is offering an excellent opportunity to candidates in specific departments to complete their Honours degree or Postgraduate Diploma.

• Students may apply for a bursary ONLY IF ACCEPTED/conditionally accepted for an Honours Degree/Postgraduate Diploma in a host department.
• Hons/PG Dip聽bursary is strictly for full-time students only, not part-time听蝉迟耻诲颈别蝉.
• Students are responsible to cover their own registration fees.
• Bursary applications will be processed AFTER student registration, to confirm applicants’ full-time study enrollment.
• Not all students can be supported by the bursary 鈥� due to the limited funding budget made available for 2026 and number of students that apply.
• Students will be informed of the outcome of their application via email after the closing date and when the applications have been processed (March 2026).
• PGCE 蝉迟耻诲别苍迟蝉听诲辞别蝉 狈翱罢听辩耻补濒颈蹿测 for this bursary.

UJ Supervisor-Linked Bursaries (SLB)

APPLICATIONS FOR 2026 ARE NOW OPEN

• Students are responsible for their own registration fees.
• Online degrees are not supported by the bursary.
• Not all students can be supported by the bursary (subject to funding budget for 2025 and the number of students that apply).
• The bursary amount to be allocated to the student account will be based on the faculty鈥檚 discretion.
• Full-time and part-time 尘补蝉迟别谤鈥檚 students in 2026 within 2 years from the first date of registration may be nominated. If students did not receive the bursary in their 1st year of study, they may receive it in their 2nd year. However, they cannot be nominated for the 3rd year of study.
• Similarly, a full-time or part-time doctoral student may be paid only for 3 years from the first date of registration.
• Students must declare all other funding that they have been or will be awarded in 2026. If they are receiving funds from internal/external funding sources (excluding the UJ Merit Bursary), their SLB component will be canceled.
• Students are required to complete the application form together with the SLB Agreement, which indicates the terms and conditions of the bursary. This document must be completed and signed by the student upon submission of the application form.

2026 HCI Foundation Bursary

Applications to the HCI Foundation Bursary Programme will be by invitation only and facilitated through the relevant institution鈥檚 internal channels. They will be working directly with selected universities to identify eligible and deserving students.
