UJ Student Finance: Important Information Before Registration

Please read the information below carefully before registering.

Payment at Cashiers

• UJ does not accept cash or card payments聽at any campus.
• Cash-accepting ATMs are available on all campuses.

聽Acknowledgement of Debt (AOD)

• A minimum deposit of 50%聽of fees is required.
• Apply online here:

Cash-Paying Students (Self-Funded)

All students (except those fully funded by sponsors or employers) must pay the minimum amount before or on the registration date:

• Day students (non-residence): R5 950.00
• Residence students聽(with residence acceptance letter): R9 850.00

Students with Outstanding Fees

• If you owe fees from previous years, you must:
  • Complete an Acknowledgement of Debt, and
  • Pay 50% of the outstanding balance聽before you can register.

Bursary / Sponsored Students

• Students fully funded by bursaries or employers do not need to pay the minimum amount聽to register.
• At registration, you must submit written proof of funding聽to the Bursaries Department.
• Registration will not be allowed听颈蹿 previous year fees are not fully paid.

SRC Inclusivity Fund

• Applications are done online.
• Approved students without historical debt聽will be unblocked automatically.
• Students with historical debt聽must complete the AOD process聽before being unblocked.

NSFAS Students

• NSFAS results are still being finalised.
• Funded students will receive communication once the list is confirmed.

Important notes:

• First-year NSFAS students听诲辞 not聽need to pay the minimum amount.
• Senior students with outstanding debt聽must complete the AOD process聽before registration.

Refund Applications

• Online refund applications are currently closed.
• Refunds will reopen on 9 March 2026.
• The Refunds Office is now located at the Doornfontein Campus (DFC), Maropeng Building, 1^st听贵濒辞辞谤.
