She is currently the Executive for Group Ethics and Compliance on behalf of Barloworld South Africa. She was the Vice President, spearheading Group Compliance and Ethics governance and assurance for SA multi-national, Sasol. She is a Global Subject Matter Expert, frequent presenter and panel member, with an enviable portfolio of continued professional development, industry body and Board representations. She is well-versed in comprehensive aspects of the law, risk management, governance, and global compliance and ethics best practices. She is an expert in preserving corporate integrity by steering operations on a strictly lawful and ethical course. She currently serves as a member of the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg Council. Dr Sibusiso Reuben Bakana is a Senior Computer Vision Researcher at the CSIR鈥檚 Defence and Security Cluster, specialising in Artificial Intelligence and lightweight computer vision models for security and environmental monitoring. He holds a PhD in Computer Applied Technology (AI) from the Beijing 欧美福利100000 of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China, and MTech, BTech, and National Diploma qualifications in Electrical Engineering from the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg.

With over 15 years of experience spanning academia, the energy sector, and technology policy, Dr Bakana previously served as Senior Energy Advisor at City Power Johannesburg. He is the Inaugural President of the South African Students in China Association, Inaugural Secretary of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers 鈥 Central Gauteng Centre, and a Research Fellow at the Afro-Sino Centre for International Relations. Recognised among the Mail & Guardian Top 200 Young South Africans (2019), he remains committed to ethical leadership, institutional transformation, and knowledge diplomacy.

Ms Kone Gugushe is the Head of Social Investing at FirstRand Group and was previously the Chief Executive Officer of the Nelson Mandela Children鈥檚 Fund. Her financial services experience ranges in various positions, from Credit Risk Management, Investment Analysis, Business Process Improvement, and Business Strategy. She is also a strong finance professional, a qualified CA (SA), and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Accounting from Rhodes 欧美福利100000. Passionate about African Development and Youth Empowerment, she is an experienced leader with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry.

Prof Sehaam Khan

Professor Sehaam Khan completed a PhD degree in Microbiology (Molecular Virology) in 2002 at the 欧美福利100000 of the Western Cape, where one year of her research was completed at Wageningen 欧美福利100000 in the Netherlands. She started her academic journey as a lecturer in 2002 at the then Cape Technikon, now Cape Peninsula 欧美福利100000 of Technology (CPUT), and moved through the ranks to Associate Professor by 2008. From February 2005 to February 2006, she joined the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Singapore, as a post-doctoral fellow, working on genes in the coronavirus (SARS Co-V). She served as Acting Head of Department for Biomedical Technology at CPUT from June 2014 鈥 June 2015 before starting her tenure as the Dean of the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences at the Namibia 欧美福利100000 of Science and Technology (NUST) in 2016.

She held the position of Executive Dean of Health Sciences at the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg from 2019 to 2022. Currently, she holds the position of DVC: Academic at UJ. Her scholarly prowess is demonstrated by her extensive contribution to academia in the areas of teaching and learning, the development of Faculty and institutional policies, guidelines, tools and government plans, and research through her publication of peer reviewed articles, book chapters, scientific papers, conference proceedings and conference outputs and successful supervision of numerous masters and doctoral students. Further to this, Professor Khan serves as a member of various societies in the fields of microbiology and virology (the latter more specifically, as the external moderator for Virology, for the Biomedical Technology Board until 2022). She also served as a member of the Research and Innovation Committee for the development of Fifth National Development Plan for Namibia and is currently part of the Premier of Gauteng鈥檚 Advisory Committee for COVID-19.

She is particularly dedicated to supporting the empowerment of youth and women-owned businesses in South Africa and across the continent. With extensive experience in both engineering and finance, including positions with major corporations like Richards Bay Minerals, RBM, BHP Billiton Energy Coal and HSBC. Lucretia has the expertise and vision to drive sustainable growth and job creation. In her current role as the Divisional Executive Client Support and Growth (Executive for Portfolio Management) at IDC, she provides strategic leadership and drives the financial sustainability of the IDC book while implementing turnaround strategies to ensure IDC clients can operate profitably and positively impact their communities. Mr Nakedi Magoro

Mr. Nakedi Magoro is currently a PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Engineering, under the Department of Quality and Operations Management. He holds 聽a Masters Technology in Operations Management (UJ), Baccalaureus Technology Degree in Logistics (UJ), National Diploma in Retail Business Management (UJ), Certificate in Project Management Program (UJ), and Certificate in Strategic Management Principles (UP). Linda holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Investments and is a specialist in institutional investment management and governance. She is a Fellow of the Africa Leadership Initiative (South Africa) and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.

Prof Tommie Meyer

Tommie Meyer is a full professor in Computer Science at UCT, the CAIR-UCT Research Chair in Artificial Intelligence, the director of the Artificial Intelligence Research Unit at UCT (airu.org.za), and the co-director of the national Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research (cair.org.za). Prior to his appointment at UCT in 2015 he held positions at the CSIR in Pretoria, National ICT Australia (now Data61), the 欧美福利100000 of New South Wales in Australia, the 欧美福利100000 of Pretoria, and the 欧美福利100000 of South Africa. He completed his PhD (Computer Science) at the 欧美福利100000 of South Africa, and his MSc (Computer Science), BSc Honours (Computer Science) and BSc (Computer Science, Mathematical Statistics) at the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg.

Tommie is recognised internationally as an expert in Knowledge Representation and Reasoning. He is a SECAI Fellow (secai.org), a member of Council of the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg, a member of SAICSIT (saicsit.org), AAAI (aaai.org), the ACM (acm.org), and ASSAf (assaf.org.za/). He is one of only three South African Computer Scientists to have obtained an A-rating from the NRF.

Ms Puleng Moloi

Puleng Moloi is a Professional Engineering Technologist registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), with over 15 years of multidisciplinary experience across the railway and information technology sectors. She currently serves at Transnet Freight Rail, where she leads system administration, performance analysis, and technical project coordination within the engineering environment.

She holds a National Diploma and a BTech in Electrical Engineering from the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg and the 欧美福利100000 of South Africa, respectively, as well as a Specialist Certificate in Project Management from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan 欧美福利100000 Business School.

Puleng is also appointed as an ECSA Assessor, contributing to the professional evaluation of engineering practitioners and mentoring emerging technologists. Her technical background, combined with strong analytical and leadership skills, reflects her commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and the advancement of engineering standards.

Prof Annah Moteetee

Professor Annah Moteetee holds a BSc degree (Biology and Chemistry) from the National 欧美福利100000 of Lesotho (NUL), an MPhil degree in Botany from Queen Mary and Westfield College, 欧美福利100000 of London, United Kingdom, and a PhD degree in Botany from the Rand Afrikaans 欧美福利100000 (now 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg), Johannesburg, South Africa. Upon completion of her PhD, she joined faculty in the Department of Botany and Plant Biotechnology, 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg, as a Technical Lecturer in January 2005. She climbed through the ranks to Senior Lecturer (2006-2013), Associate Professor (2013-2018) and Full Professor (2018-current). She was appointed as Vice-Dean: Teaching and Learning in the Faculty of Science (2011-2015) and became Acting Dean of the Faculty (2013-2014). From January 2017-January 2021 she served as Head of Department: Botany and Plant Biotechnology. From February 2021 鈥 July 2023, she served as the Senior Director, Postgraduate School, 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg. She currently supervises and co-supervises six doctoral and three master鈥檚 students and has supervised five doctoral, 18 masters, and 17 Honours students to completion. She has authored and co-authored over sixty journal articles and contributed to over sixty national and international podium and poster presentations. Her research interests are (i) ethnobotany of southern African plants, specifically biological activity of medicinal plants and the nutritional value of food plants used by the Basotho people of southern Africa, and (ii) systematics and taxonomic studies of the African legumes (i.e., the bean and pea family, Fabaceae).

Letlhokwa George Mpedi completed his B Juris degree (1996) and LLB degree (1998) at Vista 欧美福利100000. In 2001 the LLM degree in Labour Law was conferred upon him by the then Rand Afrikaans 欧美福利100000 (now 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg). Upon completing his LLB, he was a Junior Lecturer in the Department of Mercantile Law at Vista 欧美福利100000 (Mamelodi Campus). He joined the Centre for International and Comparative Labour and Social Security Law (CICLASS) at the then Rand Afrikaans 欧美福利100000 as a researcher in 2000. In August 2003, Prof Mpedi accepted a position as a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Social Law in Munich (Germany). Upon his return from Germany in 2006, he was employed as a Deputy Director at CICLASS. In the same year, the LLD degree in Mercantile Law was conferred upon him by the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg. Before his current position as Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Academic, Professor Mpedi served as Head of Department: Practical Business Law (January 2011 鈥 December 2012), Vice-Dean (January 2013 鈥 December 2015), Director at CICLASS (January 2009 鈥 December 2015) and Executive Dean (January 2016 鈥 December 2020) at the Faculty of Law of the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg. He lectured labour law and social security to LLB, post-graduate and certificate students and has delivered papers at numerous national and international conferences. He has published widely in the fields of social security and labour law. His most recent publications include a co-authored book Labour Law in Ghana (2022), published by LexisNexis.

Dr. Athi Msutu is the Founder and Managing Director of AMQ Advisory and a Certified Director with the Institute of Directors South Africa.

Dr. Msutu pursued her higher education at the 欧美福利100000 of Cape Town, where she earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry and co-authored various publications related to Synthetic Organics Chemistry Methodology and Organocatalysis.

Following her doctoral studies, Dr. Msutu transitioned into management consulting鈥攁 career she has cultivated for over a decade. She began her consulting journey at the global firm Kearny, where she gained extensive experience before establishing her own firm, AMQ Advisory. Dr. Msutu鈥檚 expertise spans strategy development and execution, digital transformation, programme management and entrepreneurship. Over the course of her career, she has advised clients across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, serving industries such as Chemicals, Banking, Oil & Gas, Energy, Aviation, and Government.

Through her consulting work, entrepreneurial leadership, and corporate governance experience, Dr. Msutu has cultivated a strong commitment to guiding organisations in driving meaningful strategic change and creating lasting value for society. She is an Associate Member of both the Institute of Directors South Africa and the Institute of Risk Management South Africa, and she also serves on the Board of the Agape National Music Academy in Georgia, USA.

Sakhizwe Ndiphethe Nkambule is a postgraduate student in the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment (FEBE) at the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg, currently pursuing a Master of Science in Construction Management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Studies and a Bachelor of Science Honours in Quantity Surveying, both obtained from the 欧美福利100000 of Johannesburg.

He has also completed the Young Leaders Development Programme (YLDP) through the Johannesburg Business School, which focuses on preparing ethical and innovative leaders for Africa鈥檚 future.

Mr. Nkambule has been part of the UJ SRC leadership for 2 years. He is a registered Candidate Quantity Surveyor with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) and has accumulated 1 and a half years of professional experience across both the construction and manufacturing industries. His industry exposure spans large-scale construction works and specialised manufacturing projects, including solutions within the mining sector.

His academic and professional trajectory reflects a strong commitment to the advancement of the built environment discipline. Dr Naiefa Rashied

Dr. Naiefa Rashied is a distinguished lecturer with over 15 years in higher education, specialising in Research Methodology, Political Economics, and Development Economics. Since 2009, she has been integral to undergraduate and postgraduate education, guiding Honours and Master鈥檚 students. Her areas of expertise include Health Economics, Local Economic Development, Decolonial Economics, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Dr. Rashied is an active researcher with her work published in esteemed journals. Her commitment to academic service also extends to journal editorship and community engagement initiatives.

She serves as a member of multiple international societies, namely the Economic Society of South Africa, the Kettil Bruun Society for Social and Epidemiological Research on Alcohol, the International Network on Brief Interventions for Alcohol and Other Drugs, the Econometrics Society and the Replication in Economics Network.

She currently chairs the Decolonisation Committee within the College of Business and Economics. She has also held roles on several other committees, supporting the Faculty of Economic and Financial Sciences and the College of Business and Economics.

He leads the Highly Correlated Matter Research Group in Science at UJ and conducts research in experimental condensed matter Physics. She is skilled in managing various stakeholders and relationships as well as in developing and implementing reporting dashboards to ensure that critical performance information is available in real-time, including tracking of the relevant KPI鈥檚. She is results-driven, focused and passionate about building high-performance teams, systems, projects, and strategies to reach measurable and sustainable goals. Mmathabo is an experienced board member having served in boards and committees of various organisations such as ARMSCOR, where she also chairs the Audit & Risk Committee, Comrick, Institute of Internal Auditors, South African Institute of Professional Accountants, Information Regulator, Department of Tourism, KZN Legislature. She has held various Executive positions at MTN, Transnet, SARS, PWC and a managerial role at Stanlib.

Thandeka is the founder and CEO of Thandeka Zondi and Associates, an Investment and Consulting firm that seeded her first start-up MoneyWorks Financial Services, a supply chain financing platform built to enable large and medium size business to establish an early payment program for the benefit of SMEs in their supply chains. After successfully exiting MoneyWorks, through Thandeka Zondi and Associates, Thandeka is now creating and investing in technology business that solve critical societal challenges of access and inclusion. She is also an experienced non-executive director and member and chair of audit and risk committees serving on boards in Short-term insurance, Retirement Funds, ICT and Investments industries. Thandeka is a Charted Accountant with over 16yrs of local and international experience focused on strategy, finance, innovation, business development, stakeholder management and leadership in the public and private sector.
